How large will my territory be?
At CarafeTM we like to ensure our franchisees have an available population base that is sufficient to support the store. We like a minimum of 100,000.

Would you ever put another CarafeTM close to mine?
No. Once your territory has been established it is yours for the term of your franchise agreement.

Can I buy my ingredients from where ever I like?
As a CarafeTM franchisee, you will buy directly from Carafe authorized suppliers. We have sourced the finest ingredients and financial arrangements available. It is important to keep our purchasing power strong by having all Franchisees purchase from our authorized suppliers.

What business experience do I require?
We will train you in most aspects of your business, but some understanding of basic bookkeeping and Microsoft Office, are required. No winemaking experience is necessary.

Will CarafeTM finance my business?
No. We leave financing to financial institutions. We will advise you in negotiating the best arrangement for your situation.

How much money will I make?
Every franchise has varying circumstances. We will work together to maximize the opportunity.

To what extent can I be involved in the construction of my store?
You are more than welcome to participate in the construction of your store. We will supply you with architectural drawings and Carafe specifications. All stores are opened in accordance with Carafe's high standard.

What is the history of CarafeTM?
Since 1987 our company has provided consulting services to Restauranteurs, Microbreweries, Brewpubs and Winemakers throughout North America and the Caribbean. In 1990, the founders assembled a team of experts to address the needs of the emerging "brew on premise business" in Canada. A unique concept with advanced equipment design and operating system was developed and marketed under the name Brew Kettle. In 1993, the Brew Kettle facilities introduced their successful winemaking program.
Recognizing the tremendous potential of winemaking stores dedicated solely to quality wine products and specialized services, CarafeTM was established in 1996. Carafe WinemakersTM Franchises soon grew to become leading winemaking boutiques in Canada.
CarafeTM International continues to oversee and advance both Brew Kettle regional brewing centers and the CarafeTM Winemakers family. We enjoy a highly positive and mutually beneficial relationship with our 20 Franchisees. Their dedication to their clientele has enabled them to experience solid and continual growth. CarafeTM International continues to work along side its Franchisees to explore innovative products and services, further develop its relationships with industry leading suppliers and create effective new marketing strategies.
Carafe WinemakersTM USA was established in response to many requests from American entrepreneurs who could see the time was right for this concept in their area. They recognize that the best way to benefit from the growing interest in boutique wineries is to join a well established group with a proven business format, recognized name, substantial volume purchasing, creative marketing and the freedom to explore opportunities within their community.
Carafe WinemakersTM Franchise opportunities are now available in many States. Those who wish to open and run their own winemaking enterprise backed by our experience and continuous support are encouraged to participate.
Our ability to perfect small, yet high performance winemaking operations has created new avenues for success. However, as our industry evolves, regulations vary from State to State. In many States, Carafe WinemakersTM is allowed to offer our complete winemaking services including in-store tastings. We help you to obtain winery licenses that enable you to produce and sell wines by the bottle as well as the opportunity to expand into the lucrative wholesale trade.
